DAY 4

I drove from Carlsbad, NM to Whichita Falls, TX. One word should come to mind when you think of Texas: Industry, industry, industry!! As you drive across the vast acreage you see prosperity. The Government of Texas promotes their residents to use all resources on their land. If you are willing to work, you can see a chance at wealth. On one farm I saw cows, crops, a small sectioned off oil rig, and a wind farm. In fact, I saw 5 large hundred plus acre wind farms in Texas. I would argue that the state has embraced “going green” more than any other state that I saw. In fact, Texas was the only state I saw a single wind farm. So long as “going green” can be profitable for the Texas land owners. Texas was filled with shallow rolling hills of farm land and cattle. Sadly, all of the Barbque and Staek resturants I pulled into were closed due to President’s day. So I will just have to return and try the delicious food. I ended up staying with a friend in whitcha Falls.

DAY 5

Today, I set out to Searcy, AR. My boyfriend Matt’s family lives there so of course I had to stop and say hello! Plus, I can’t ever pass up the chance to eat good food. On my way I drove through the remainder of Texas, and entered into Arkansas. Of course I had to take a 30min diversion just to say I went through Oklahoma!! Haha, I had to get the selfie of course. 😛

I didn’t make too too many stops, but I did get to drive through the Daisy State Park in the evening as I entered Arkansas. Like most people, I didn’t know much about the state. Arkansas has nice roads, good barbecue, and is active in the timber industry.

Stay Salty!
